Default Pull Engine to Replace Oxygen Sensor! ! ! ! ! ? ? ? ?

Just got quoted 30+ hours to replace an after catalyst OH TWO sensor!!!!

Neither my SA nor myself believe this. He's waiting for the tech to get back from lunch to ask him.

Anyone heard of this before?

Default Yup. 30 hours. Pull engine per Audi.

Tech says he can do it in eight without pulling the engine.

Eight hours to replace an oxygen sensor! Didn't Audi learn anything from their prototype car racers?

I'm thanking my stars for Audi Assured, but I think this might also be covered by the emissions warranty even without Audi Assured.

Yep, when my engine was out recently (for other reasons), I preemptively replaced both.

Default Did you notice an improvement in driveability?

I'm wondering if fuel trim is affected by the after cat sensors. I've been told it is. I think the mileage of my beast could be improved with a slightly leaner mixture.

Nothing, but then mine was the "while you're at" type deal.

Default Tis true.. Remember, they had to use a shoehorn to get the motor in..

make sure they replace both sensors while they are there.

If he doesn't pull the engine, then I only get one side. I asked.

Default its alot easier to just pull the DPs . last RS6 that we had to do 02s

we only charged the guy 1000 flat + the sensors.

no need to pull the motor
