That would make the decision more difficult but the rumors are base of $105,000 in Europe? That's nutty. That's not much under the price of an R8, is it? If the car is priced in the 80s in the US it will sit in this climate.

If I drove in stop and go traffic a bunch I might like the dual clutch, but a manual really makes the daily drive more fun for me.

I agree with you that the car would likely sit on the lot if it's priced in the 80s or above. Even pricing in the 70s might prove to be a problem. The base price on the RS4 in the US was something like $66k before getting the premium package which raised the price to $70k.

I don't care if the RS5 comes to the US at any price, with or without a manual. The B7 RS4 is a fantastic car and a very hard act to follow. It's an extremely capable car with a lot of versatility. It's the best car I've ever owned. I know, I am keeping mine for a while...

That's the even bigger problem. Even if the car was the same price as the RS4, it's not the same price now. You are going to have to have a heckuva package to get me to spend at least $30,000 in trade. And I wouldn't do anything until Tubi had worked the same magic, because I know the stock RS5 isn't going to sound as good as my car

Two features of the new RS5 though that the RS4 lacks are: latest generation of torque vectoring technology, which lets power be distributed laterally between the rear wheels (About time they caught up to Acura), Dual clutch transmission with 3 different programs .
Not sure why they would pass on magnetorheological suspension...

I have driven the new S4 without the sport rear differential and DSG and the car felt perfect to me. Not sure why anyone would want either one of those options. Especially, the rear sport differential. In street driving, my RS4 behaves extremely well without it.
