Well... it isn't like the hat was going to cost $1000.

Sounds good. I'm looking at some spacers a wheel and the new RNS-E....but if you order a hat, lemme know. Thanks!

Valid point... but...

Hat for one person = $170
Simpson Super Bandit = $550
FBSW = $2,000
Telling my wife I'm not buying the hat to save money = priceless (a lifesaver possibly)

I hear ya... it just seemed like a lot for a baseball hat. The sad part is that the first RS4 I looked at (did not buy) had the original unworn RS4 baseball hat with the car in the trunk. The car looked and drove perfect... until the low oil warning came on at the end of the test drive. Pass. Who knew they would be so hard to come by?

Now for the good news:

$2k is way too much for a FBSW. I spent $1k for a new FBSW. Got the newest design with round airbag, really thin spokes, titanium stitching (matches the carbon fiber), RS4 sticker (from the B8), and full RNS-E compatibility. Suggest you contact alex at europrice. Granted, mine was a group buy... but perhaps he has another in the works! If you are interested, I can dig up some pictures. It looks stock, yet spectacular.

I would have made an offer for the hat alone... lol.

$1k from Alex? When did you buy?
The best offer I could get was a couple of months ago - the new facelift with RS4 badge and harness: $1,500. If you include shipping and customs/excise tax plus conversion to Canadian, it's very close to $2,000.

I'm now looking at one on eBay for about $900 but I'm a little leery of it. It's not plug and play like Alex's so I'm doing my homework on what's needed to make it work - probably just rewiring. If I could get one from Alex for $1k, I'd do it...

Could you post some pics please? I'd love to see what your steering wheel looks like.
I really wanted what he's offering but $2k is a big dent for a wheel.
Thanks Datadatum. :-)

Question: is there a market for our older RS4 steering wheels? I'm thinking older A4's would like it?

I've completely thread-jacked my own thread...

Only the B7 A4s can use it. not the B6. I still have mine from the change to a flat bottom TTRS wheel

Thanks Reggie. Not much point trying to sell if there's no market.
The FBSW I'm looking at on eBay is also from the TTRS. Did you need to rewire (3 wires)? Did you buy thru Alex?
