Default Having same issues...

2008 Rs4 with 12,500 miles. Ha sbeen in for rough idle on start with CEL twicw. 1st time dealer used some sort of additive and it seemed ok for about a week. I always try to use Shell gas. Went back in last week when CEL came on again. Dealer cleaned carbon deposits. Ran really clean for about an hour. Still have rough idle sputtering on startup. Once I start to drive it is fine but the rough startup worries me down the road when warranty runs out. Also service tech said I must drive like an old lady. My daughter confirmed that is not the problem.

Default eng warn light after rough cold start

Audi dealer had my car for a day due to the EWL coming on after a very rough cold start. It was getting progressively worse & the car seemed to be lacking the same 'punch' that it had from new (now 12k miles). New software was loaded. The dealer said that I'd probably have to have my valves cleaned in the near future. They didn't have a lot of info on the software either. They also said to 'drive it hard'.... Pretty good starts the past couple days. Pwr seems good - and I've been getting after it!

It's buildup in the intake and on the intake valves. If it's not in warranty, fork up the $800 and get it done. Plan to get it done yearly.

Very happy with the new software...the power has returned. Car still a little sick during some start-ups but the car runs great.

I had my CEL blink on and off with a rough idle at startup for roughly a minute in Cape Cod last week. I figured it was either a coilpack or MAF going bad. Seems I maybe wrong

Too bad the dealer won't flash the ECU unless that CEL stays iluminated.

Is anyone seeing misfire codes even though it's not throwing a solid CEL?
