Another RS4 from GMG
#5
Thanks guys....
GMG did a great job with the install of the Stasis Ohlins kit. The Milltek resonated exhaust is more tame than the Magnaflow I had on. Both sound terrific, but I preferred the subtlety of the resonated version. (If anyone is interested, the Magnaflow is for sale--$500 SHIPPED anywhere in ConUS)
My HREs are arriving tomorrow and I will try to take some pics over the weekend. At last, my mods list is complete...until the Carbonio airbox and GIAC chip are out.
Cheers!

Re: Did you have a chance to check out GMG's own exhaust for the RS4?
Yes, I did, and it sounds great. Very comparable to the Milltek resonated version IMO. At the time, it was still in prototype production, and I did not have the patience to wait an extra month. So I pulled the trigger on the Milltek instead.
My only gripe with the Milltek is the fitment. Considering I paid more than double the price of the Magnaflow, I expected a perfect fit and finish. After installation, I noticed that the left side tip was hanging out 1.5" further than the right side. I had my installation shop cut off 1.5" to the left side (in front of the muffler) to make it flush, and then re-weld it. After 30 minutes of looking at it from all different angles, I finally got both sides even. I even had them mount the tips up a tad higher so that it runs flush with the rear bumper.
Any Milltek owners out there have the same issue after install?

Re: How does the milltek resonated compare to stock S mode?
No comparison in my opinion. The stock S mode hardly makes a difference in sound, whereas the resonated version gives you that deeper growl across the charts. I was going to go with NON-resonated, but after hearing one at GMG, glad I went with RES. The NON-res would have been way too much for my 15-month daughter. Both are great, and you can't go wrong either way.
