With the Audi RS 7 (www​.audiusa.com), Quattro, the company’s performance division, has created a car that is capable of impressive speeds and, with its hatchback rear, has one of the sexiest, most distinctive shapes on the road. The 4-liter TFSI V-8 biturbo delivers 560 hp through an 8-speed automatic transmission and enables the RS 7 to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and easily reach its electronically limited top speed of 174 mph. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive—not to be confused with the performance division of the same name—provides four-seasons grip, and the optional night-vision display and lane-departure-assistance feature ensure a safe ride. The optional Bang & Olufsen audio system adds sparkling sound and an unexpected bonus: matte black, toadstool-shaped tweeters that rise theatrically from the dash when the system is turned on. The starting price for the RS 7 is about $105,000.
