GM's been making lots of PR Ring time claims, ZR-1, CTS-V with no video proof...
This is the "stock" CTS-V they used in past claims; odd, didn't know the Caddy came with Sparcos.

Don't marketting people talk some absolute rubbish.....
"The car's
limited-slip differential is made of cast iron for extreme strength. Its limitedslip
tuning enables excellent high-speed stability along with comfortable
low-speed maneuverability. The prop shaft is heavy-duty and wheel hub
bearings are stiffened and bolstered to manage the car's remarkable
energy. Axle half-shafts are asymmetrical, a design that ensures smooth
performance."
Stiffened wheel bearings - what?
Oh, and one other detail -7:58---156.652km/h--Audi RS4 4.2 V8 FSI, 420 PS/ 1650 kg, Frank Stippler, (10/05)
Me thinks the BS factory is at work also!

All they claim is OEM tires. Nothing about suspension. brakes, etc.
All the report said was on factory OEM tires. That car had to have highly modified brakes and suspsension in order to get under 8 minutes. Was there a Penske sticker on the side of the car somewhere?
Would you get into a CTS ready to attempt a sub 8 minute lap without that safety gear?
I'll bet trolls are going to use this kind of info to trash talk German sedans for the next year or so.

I think when a manufacturer states a Ring time, the ASSUMPTION is that it is stock...
I just mentioned the seats bec. in our luxury sedans those are BIG weight items and the Sparcos would afford a substantial weight savings.
