No new RS6 for the U.S.?
Fourtitude: Jumping to the other side of your portfolio. Some photos turned up his past week of the RS 6 at Nurburing. I would imagine that Audi is well aware that many spy photographers live there daily. Is the RS 6 something to consider for the U.S.?
Hoffmann (Audi Product Development guru): <b>Not at the moment. </b>Actually I haven't seen the spy shots yet because I haven't seen anything confirmed about the RS6 yet. What we are doing with the R S4 here, I think we did a good job, we launched it and established the RS brand a little bit. The last time we had an RS here with the RS 6, it was a car with limited volume, limited visibility.

Perhaps even more telling, if this is a valid statement...
" At the moment, I am focusing more on the RS 4 so nothing has been decided on the RS 6 yet." It might be that they view the RS4, S6, S8 and R8 enough for the US market, though it is hard to believe they will ignore this part of the uber-sedan market.

Just my two cents...but considering the projected price point...
I'd think me save my hard earned dollar and go buy an R8 considering where that cars price is currently quoted...of course I'm assuming the wifey d/n get pissed at me for ditching the four doors and the back seat...hey, I bought her an SUV...THAT'S WHERE THE PEOPLE MOVING AND HAULING SHOULD TAKE PLACE DAMN IT!!!!

This is a Nasty rumor
We talked to Johan De N. last October at ALMS race in Monterey. It now appears what he told us regarding perfomance of the new RS6 is about to become reality. He appeared personally excited about the new RS6 coming to the US.
They blew it on bringing the original RS6 to market. I think they now know how to launch a performance car as evidenced by the RS4 and R8 marketing endeavors.
I'm looking forward to ordering my RS6 replacement.
