Looking for vehicle shipper

Looking for vehicle shipper
From SW Florida to SE Michigan -- soon. Already have a source to ship on July 9 but prefer it be picked up around June 28 - July 2 for delivery within 3-4 days. Had a reliable guy for many years but he caved due to high expenses including diesel fuel. Prefer actual shipper rather than broker, unless you have had first hand experience with a broker who produced reliable shippers on several occasions. I know I can google for this but I'm looking for recommendations here because there are unreliable, even shady outfits among brokers & shippers. TIA.

Thanks for that -- I didn't know! However....
FedEx says they can do it, but they dropped open carriers about a year ago. Only enclosed shipment is available now @ $1400-plus. That's twice the $750 open carrier bid that I already have.
Worse, they want a seven-day window for pickup, and another window of three or four days at the receiving end ... whereas my open carrier guy's July 9 date at least lets us plan a flight without needing a lengthy car rental before we leave Florida or after arriving in Michigan.
So -- thanks for the suggestion, but I'm still shopping. Anyone else?

Think this is closed carrier only but here you go
Luxury Motor Transports, located in FL. They were hired by a broker (A-AAA Auto Transport, recommended to me by a friend/restorer) to deliver mine and did a fine job, very careful and meticulous. 727-725-4200

I've used open carrier for seven years, two ways each year = 14 times; no damage
Well, actually 13 times, since I'm looking now for the 14th. No problems except occasional delays, and that can happen with enclosed carriers too.
If we had used a broker to hire different drivers each time, then I could see where there might be problems. But we used the same reliable driver after finding him through a broker the first year. That's why I'm hoping to find an actual shipper here, rather than a broker.
I agree that when using a broker, a closed carrier is better. But by using our reliable open carrier each time, I have saved more than $7K over those years.

Damn - I lost his number!
Maybe I can find it tomorrow -- it's late & I'm hitting the sack. But he's supposed to call me Monday anyway about a July 9 pickup. Will post more when I know more.
