Default yes. Requested it be done during 35k service. very noticeable difference in shifting smoothness.

I'd recommend it for everyone.

Default Think it was just a filter clean and new fluid. not sure if they did a flush...

I told them I was getting some harder shifts as well as a hi pitched gear whining sound from the somewhere in the tranny. They did a service to see if it helped and put it under warranty so no cost. Turns out it is the rear differential which is failing and will be replaced next month.

Default Did filter change and fluid at 75k

Didn't notice any difference. Guess the car has been treated easier over it's life than I thought.

What kind of mileage for your failing rear diff? Track driven? Thinking about changing my rear & front diff to Redline gear oil. MGH

Default Sounds like a very good idea.

The Germans keep touting "lifetime fluids", but I interpret that "lifetime" as the short life of the component that fails from lack of fluid changes.

Default I read somewhere that the "lifetime" meant it was designed for what a single owner...

might use it for in the first "life" of the car, as in, around 80,000-100,000 miles.

I interpret lifetime as the length of the warranty.

Bingo.....it's the "lifetime" of the warranty!
