Default X-POST--Stand Alone Update...

Well guys, I thought I'd pass along an update on the installation of my AEM EMS. Things are progressing rapidly towards a delivery sometime next week. Since AEM does not make a plug and play version for the AAN, like Joey P. has, there is a lot of custom wiring which included the complete removal of the stock wiring harness. Doing the wrenching and wiring is my good friend Dave Jones of 3R Racing in Denver. He's using all gold connectors and has installed a cannon plug at the firewall to allow quick disconnect for future upgrading ;-) Here are a few pics.

2 Pics of the new harness...

Hey, where's my POSs and connectors???

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/15038/img_1815.jpg">

This should be the first AAN with an AEM EMS running things. Some of the features will include launch control where I can just hold the gas pedal down and the AEM will hold any preselected rpm with 0 mph. It also allows for flat footed shifting and I again hold the gas pedal down while shifting and it holds some boost and a specified rpm. This thing is going to rock!

Default These things are wiring nightmares Hap...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/711/haltech.jpg"></center><p>take a look at my Haltech E11v2. That little bundle of wires weighs over 9lbs and has 112 leads invloved in order to run the system with the inboard MoTec heads-up display.

I'm great at mechanics but I hired a certified (or is that "certifiable?") geek to do this installation.

Default Yes they are...

That's why Davey Jones is doing the install. He's not a Geek but there aren't too many guys that know the urS4/AAN better than he does.

Default It's about time you ditched that factory crap! ;)

I had a 1.74 60-ft time at Bandi the other night leaving the line at 4000 rpms, about 20 psi of boost and my 8lb flywheel. Launch control is soooo much fun!
