Default Radar Detectors

So I know they often set up speed traps on I-70 exit 254, but today I had my Valentine 1 on and it absoltely went crazy(showed 1 K band hit, but I was picking it up for a long while, and strong) near exit 254(Genesee Park) and 248(Floyd Hill) exits. Yet I did not see a patrol car or even a suspicious looking parked car that could be shooting radar.

My only thoughts were that the CSP set up a radar gun in the median or something as an attempt to get the attention of those of us with radar detectors so we slow down, even when there is not actually a speed trap set up.

Anyone else notice this or have any idea where it is coming from?

which direction were you heading when you got hit? some inside advice from what I see. Jeffco will setup EB I-70 at the 248, but they will be in an SUV on the on ramp. They sit in the perfect position where they can see you as you come under the bridge, but you can't see them. Even in the semi I can't see them until I come under the bridge. If you are WB, they are setting on the bridge watching you it's usually CSP with a chaser at the top of the hill.
