Default I know! I replaced my brand new V1 with a 9500ix - BTW my V1 is for sale...

Used it for 3 days but I can't return it because my wife bought it for xmas gift over 30 days ago

The V1 dude she bought it from told her I could get a refund up to Jan 25th. I called V1 and the lady got all pissy when I asked for a refund. Then she got all excited when she found out it was passed 30 days. She told me I was lying about the dude that said 1/25 and said 30 days period! WTF? If I was rich I'd set the POS on fire and then ship it back in a box of dog crap.

Anyway the V1 is a great detector but the 9500ix w/ the GPS lock-out and auto-learning is better for me. I love it!

Default I went from the 8500 to the 9500 to the V1. Now I'm content :)

The 9500 failed to go off at a speed trap in DT Denver. Two motorcycle cops on each side of the street with radar guns, and not a chirp from the 9500. It was set to full sensitivity too. I couldn't even look at it on the dash after that. It's like having your girl cheat on you. I purchased the V1 used and I couldn't be happier. It does go off a bit more, but the sensitivity is quit a bit better than the 9500 (judging from the usual stationary false alarms). I always thought I could live without the arrows, but now after having them, I'd never go back. I can't believe how much it helps knowing which direction it's coming from. It's especially nice when you have it go off and it shows from the front, then the side for a split second, and then the rear..... showing that you have passed the source.

I've been using Escort detectors for probably 7 years now and I refused to think the V1 was better. I did a ton of research and some sites rated Escort over the V1, and some rated the V1 better. It seemed pretty unanimous that the V1's laser detection is superior as well as it's range, but lacks in the ability to filter false alarms. Well the 9500 filtered just a bit too much and that's all it took for me.

There are a lot of awesome features in the 9500 and it would be great to dispense with the usual false alarms, but with cops lurking everywhere, I don't want to chance it.

Default thus far, it's picked up the speed traps i've been through...

it discerns what you have programmed, and what is new so there is really no risk... i thought the same as you, but it has quickly proved me wrong..

Default That's the thing, I hadn't programmed any places since it was my 4th day of owning it.

I don't know..... I'm guessing it was just a freak incident. Still, I couldn't trust it after that and it quickly was sold on CL.

Default I have the 9500ix as well - hasn't failed me yet ;) It's all personal preference IMO

the big selling point for me was the GPS lockout feature, and the mini USB that will allow for future firmware updates.
