Can I safely pull out the bike yet, or is it still too snowy?

I rode mine to work a week or two ago and it was a major pain in the ***.
Lots of places still snow/icy/rutted up then... I'm hoping to ride my bike again this week when its nice out.
Oh... and my roommate rode his bike (road) 22 miles up the Platte river trail today (he claims you bypass the septic plant on the way by and it is advised to go only south from REI).
