Default Anyone up near the Westminster area do much mountain biking?

I picked up a decent bike last fall but really havnt used it much and was looking for someone to go ride with locally or show me some good trails. Im brand new to the sport and just want to start with something mellow.

Default Other the bike paths, there are no trails in Westy...

that I know of. You will have to drive to get to anything worth riding. There are lots of trails in the foothills from Lyons up north to Deer Creek Canyon down south. Both JeffCo and Boulder counties have pretty good Open Space websites with all the trails listed.

My favorites would be Mt Falcon, Bergen Peak and Walker Ranch. It all depends on what you want to ride (up) and what kinda of riding (techincal or just riding) you want to do.

Default Right I realize there is nothing worth while in Westminster

I just figured it might be easier to meet up with others in the area for carpooling, convenience etc.

Default I'd be up for an after-work ride when the monsoons subside.

The closest one to westy is probably Greenbelt Platuea/Marshall Mesa/Community Ditch out around 128 and 93. It's an easy ride too, so good for learning.
