Took long enough, but I finally managed to make it to a double school. Having a lot of track day and autocross experience really helps, I was able to concentrate on the line and racing in close quarters with other cars. I was almost bored until the practice "races" which were just amazing, they gridded the faster cars in back for both practice, to see how people pass and get passed.

I sorta have a car, I'm sharing a friends NX2000. Not really competitive (1:22's at Nelson)...
But it's reliable and fun to drive. I sold the unreliable Rabbit last year. I only took that to a couple track days.

I ran 15 year old Bridgestone RE71R's on the back the entire time :) I tried them on front...
when the V700 supply was getting low and they immediately fell apart after a couple laps. Since it wasn't my car I was stuck with using up my friends old tires. I'm not complaining though, we saved some decent 710's for the last day (only for the front though). The car rotates nicely with super sticky 710's in front and hockey pucks in back.
Big meat up front, no meat in back...

Beware of the other NX2000 in the northeast...
...he's turning 2:17's at the Glen in a truly legal ITA NX. Yikes.
You/your buddy didn't buy that car from a guy named Dick, maybe ? If so, it's pretty fast. Know the original builder...from when it was a Showroom Stock car, a long long long time ago. It used to live in Utica/Rome.
SR-20 motors are pretty much unkillable.
The Chief Steward who 'signed you off' is a pretty good racer in his own right...do you know of his connection to racing history ?
Hell, I'll even bet that the back those 'on-track' pictures say "Photo's by Dave Klein".
I love Nelson Ledges...coolest, fastest dumpy race track on earth.
