Here's the deal, I'm the "communications manager" at Coffey sound: coffey sound
In other words I rent walkies. The corner workers had Motorola P1225's and CP200 walkies with Otto "noise cancelling" head sets. the walkies are "keyed" by hitting a button, there's nothing on the headset to turn on or off. If the guy was touching his head set, he was pushing it tighter onto his head so he could hear better, or lifting it off to hear the "bark O' the bad five"! BTW, the corner worker never looked at me in those pics!! His back was to me the whole time!!! The guys at the next series of turns ALWAYS watched me! It probably had to do with the fact that I ALWAYS waved and gave ALL the workers a vigorous thumbs up after every session!
