Re: Audi R10 at Sebring
Oh, just found some photos of the R10 carnage on flickr.... pretty substantial but obviously everything was repaired.
You'd think if it happened with any other prototype out there the car would have been messed up enough that it wouldn't be repairable.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/antiundersteer/sets/72157600002452321</a

During the race, the TV people said the car was repaired with components from last year's car.
There seems to be more work to do, since that repaired car had more problems than the other one during the race.

Kudos to the crew that fixed it overnight
This car was indeed looking "totalled" after the Thursday night crash. The crew that got it running by Friday morning should be commended IMO. No, it didn't run perfectly, but it finished the race after basically being rebuilt with little to no opportunity for testing. To get a fourth overall under those circumstances is pretty good.
As one of the AOA employees in the Audi Corral said to me, "I wish I could get my car fixed that fast!"

Announcers said it was from their spare car
Considering that the car has received significant changes from last year and is considered new, I doubt it was using last year's components.

Rob lied.
Chassis #101 & #102 were used at Sebring last year, with #101 winning the race. #101 was subsequently mangled during a test day right after Sebring. Chassis #102 & #103 were used for the rest of the season, including Le Mans. #101 was subsequently repaired & became the test mule for further development.
And there will be 3 cars at Le Mans this year.
