Mechanical inspection of the "new" 85 UrQ complete.. survey says:
No significant bad news to speak of- everything that's wrong is minor.
- Needs plugs, has the wrong (narrow) rotor.
- E-brake cables are on their way out.
- The exhaust isn't 100%- it's all there and in good shape, but the center section runs a bit too close to the right side of the tunnel.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/101316/85_urq_exhaust.jpg">
- The A/C compressor is massively out of adjustment for no readily apparent reason.
- A few vacuum lines were disconnected.
- The car has a block heater- I wasn't exactly expecting to find a 3 prong plug in the grille.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/101316/85_urq_block_heater.jpg">
- There's a green 2 wire connector hanging down in the passenger front fender well that doesn't appear to connect to anything.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/101316/85_urq_mystery_plug.jpg">
Overall, I was very happy after spending a half hour or so poking around under the car- it's extremely clean underneath, and a lot of the factory paint marks are still visible.

Hmm, didn't know there were 'narrow'rotor choices. Did you loosen the oil cooler mounts? it should be level facing forward like the IC and it looks like the mounts for the shroud were 'kinked'?

Yup. They're going to steam clean the underside while they've got it.
Do all the Stebros run that close to the passenger side of the tunnel? You can see where someone used a BFH on the heat shield to get it to clear.

Re: I've straightened the oil cooler. Is the undertray still available anywhere?
I've sourced a reasonable repro from overseas ~$55 at the time but shipping is almost 1/2 that.
Pretty sure the WR/WX take the same rotor, if not speced, definately plug and play. As James said, don't toss it, unless its bad.

Just checked ETKA- the WR and WX do use the same, wide rotor....
which means the narrow one that's in there is wrong. Part numbers:
055 905 225 B (WR, WX)
052 905 225 C (MB, RR)- has "10MM" note.
I found the information on the wide vs. narrow rotor on Phil Payne's site- URL with pictures of them side by side below.<ul><li><a href="http://www.isham-research.co.uk/quattro/rotor_arms.html">Wide and narrow rotors</a></li></ul>
