Default Maybe.

I remember you DKW from 05. Good to hear from you again.

Currently It was on my schedule for 07.
Things might change and right now I'm pretty perturbed and occupied with other things.
But, I would like to go and contribute as much as possible to have this addressed.

As with most things, I question how ACI handled this parts clearance with Audi. Clearly Audi and ACI are both in agreement on this plan. I would imagine that certain individuals and parties within ACI brokered the deal so that parts were distributed through them. That in itself smacks of a mis-use of authority and possibly borderline corruption since most of these parts will likely be resold on the open market at higher values to non-ACI people. As far as I know ACNA isn't part of ACI yet although it meets all the requirements that ACI set forth for membership.

Default Re: Motion to discuss - I think there should be a password protected access site where

people can access a spreadsheet and put in parts that are thought to be NLA- then when somebody knows of a good substitute/upgraded part/cross refernce to another mfgr or place of availability - that data can be put in another column. This would provide good data for part substitution ( ie the bomb cross references to a bmw part), or could clear up some previously thought NLA stuff. James mentioned door handles. An import parts place here in Denver has new handles for like $75 I think. So some parts issues could be solved by cross referencing - the ones that can't, we lobby w/ Audi or other vendors to make runs. This will narrow the focus down to the crucial parts and also leave a "watch" list for other parts....

Personally I still think a letter writing campaign would be helpful (it defintily will not hurt) - We draft a form letter that could be printed be every urquattro/Sport Q owner and mailed to the proper person at Audi. If he receives hundreds letters about the issue and how it translates to current sales - well you never know. A key thing would be to involve the urquattro clubs from the US and UK , Germany , the Swiss, etc - obviously the US allotment won't get too far, IMO.

Default agree

I have written letters to AoA already.
I suggest everyone here do the same.

As for the website, I'd be glad to host something like that.
Let me look into it.

Default "Password protected site"..

It could be as simple as creating a 'yahoo group', that you can't join unless approved.

One can post files, pictures and messages, and can lock it down so only members can see anything.

The part/cross/substitute spreadshet is a very good idea too!

Default NEW UrQ Parts - personal sell off

I have a new distributor and also a new oem "bent" front tie rod , both still in orig packaging . Also have an ecu and crank sensor . All parts are from '83 UrQ . If someone needs these let me know . I don't really know how much I want , I haven't really thought about selling them . They are in my spares box riding around in my trunk , but I'll probably be switching to 20v , 034 , gt30 soon (and then I'll have a low mileage MC2 head , k24 ,Lehmann ECU , etc. to get rid of) .
