Re: i think i figured it out - Audi Sport Quattro -
Sport quattro is extremely rare. Most are tucked away in private showrooms. If you want something similar get a Ur quattro. It won't be as fast but is still a rare car. Prices range anywhere from $5000(a car that needs lots of work) to $14000(for a rare '85 model). Remember parts for these cars are very hard to find. Good Luck!

Last time I saw a SQ for sale, it was 75,000$. I think that was a bit steep, frankly, but nevertheless that's what it sold for. It would be cheaper, though more time consuming, to make one. Because they were never offered for sale here, expect to pay big time to get it in the country. Or, try contacting one of the current owners (Colin has one, 2Bennett has 2 I think, the Audi club owns a couple, I think Beddor held on to at least one) and see if they will part with it.
However, given that you're looking more performance wise, I doubt you're really looking for a SQ. Why not buy a Coupe Quattro and drop a V8 or 3B into it? With suspension, you'd have a car that could massacre a stock sport quattro and it would cost you less than 10,000$. They're not good handling cars and you can't get parts for them.

yeah, I am quite aware that it wasnt built for the straight...i love how poeple like to point that
out every time you mention drag or quarter.
It is a QUARTER MILE. Needless to say, it is a verygood measure of a car's engine capability for when it IS on the curves. It measures strength of the vehicle.
Everytime I hear someone say that response, I think of a person who is ashamed of what their 1/4 numbers might end up being.
I know where the car was built for.
