Default Actually, believe it or not, Porsche transmission parts that are shared with Audis are generally

cheaper than the same Audi part. I know there is a bearing shared that will cost you half as much from a Porsche parts place than an Audi supplier.

Agreed. The 944 transmission is basically a 016 transmission, and many parts interchange.

Default 8 bucks from the dealership for the rear cover gasket..

That and a 150 dollar 016 4kQ transmission.

Who says Audis are expensive?

Default I think scott dewitt just uses the wurth green sealer paste

seemed to work fine on the tranny he sold me for my coupe. This stuff:

Default Hey James

Just about any Audi dealer can fetch you a gasket for the 016, I have them for the 01E. The diff case to center section needs to be sealed with a sealant. As marc said I use the Wurth sealant which is the same stuff Kluge used. You can use RTV but make sure that none of it gest swueezed into the internals as it will break off eventually and get wedged between a syncro and gear and make shifting into that gear impossible. You can also get the sealer from a dealer but IIRC it's pretty expensive.
