Default All chips have a warranty. I guess this means they are now being selective about warranty voiding

on the vehicle itself.

No, the warranty will be a Champion Motorsport warranty. Nothing to do with the factory warranty.

Default So if a turbo blows on a car you chipped, you will automatically cover it without

trying to get it warranted through AoA first? The reason I ask is that wether or nor a warranty is voided based on mods seems arbitrary at best. Most of the time it comes down to what kind of day the tech/service manager is having. Many failures that are written off to modifications happen on unmodified cars all the time.

Dont get me wrong, I'm excited that we can now get similar options to those Dodge has been giving through MOPAR, but it seems that by doing so independently of the manufacturer, the dealership has placed itself in a precarious ethical situation.

It also seems like a good way to alienate those who have previously had warranty work denied based on the same modifications you are now selling.

All that said, I truly hope this is a succesful venture. Once the concept is proven to work, maybe other dealers will follow suit. I'd love to be able to buy a stageIII A3 right off the lot and not have to worry about warranty issues.

Default Picture this...............

Your traveling across the country, say, Seattle Wash. and your "modified" A4 develops a no start
condition due too a ecm lock-up .it happens. car towed in to nearest dealer in Seattle. Tech checks car out runs G.F.F. and finds a slight deviation in torque values .[yes it can be checked ] tech finds out that ecu is "Modified"
lets writer/advisor know , he then tells you about the Bulletin from Audi ,disscusing "chipped" cars. and then tells you "Sorry, but it is not a warranty issue."
what do you do then ?????
I'm not busting ***** ,just posing the question.

Just to clarify things. This CHAMPION MOTORSPORT warranty has nothing to do with the dealership or factory warranty. Once everything is finalized, I can then provide you with more information. I can tell you that it will only cover anything directly related to the chip.
For example, a blown turbo.

Default If it was something covered by AoA, i would be all over it

but $550 for a ecu upgrade that means i would have to drive all the way down there everytime i need service, dunno about that. Does champion offer custom tuning as well? Thats something no one really offers except revo and upsolute

Default Re: Picture this...............

Would that deviation be visible if said car had a program that allowed the customer to switch the car back to stock prior to being towed into the dealership? Assuming they weren't brain dead enough to leave their "switch" in the glove compartment....
