Can I get run flat tires
Has anyone seen run flat tires for the Q7 ?
Since I am getting the 4.2 TDI, I wonder if there are any roumors about changes to this new production or new options etc
I have already added the offroad package .... anything else ?

Use the world

Yes - but you'd throw away current wheel and tyres.
There is a hook up between brands like bridgestone and conti.
They have 2 types - one for cars up to bmw 3/5 series size (and 18" wheels) - this is primarily for the lighter sport and saloon cars. This involves a strengthened sidewall technology that is able to support 50mph running of vehicle for upto 50 miles. We have it and it works "great" on 18" wheels/ 3 series.
All other options involve expensive and complex "wheel and tyre" options that also involve an inner "running" tread to take higher weight vehicles such as A8 and Q7.
So since Audi was keeping this q7 to a budget (ie no led lights, cheaper leather and other finishings) it goes hand in hand with their move to use normal tyres and no runflat system.
Checkout the bridgestone website for your area of the world and they have links to the 2 run flat options.
Michelin has their own offering and it also involves special wheel rim and tyres.
Perhaps the Audi dealers should give people the "option" !!!

Re: 4.2 TDI
What country are you in?
I'd re-mortgage my house for an A8-4.2-TDI!
My wife drives an A6, but I'm still driving a VW TDI waiting for Audi to bring them into Canada or the US.
I guess the only thing close here is the VW 5.0 TDI in the Phaeton & Touareg.
But its kinda overkill ... a truck that is 1200 pounds heavier than a Hemi-powered Dodge Durango, yet beats it at 0-60 by 1.2 seconds!
