What oil ?

Hi! Is your car recommanded to use 508 or 0w-20 ? I have an audi q8 and my oil rec is this one but I've been hearing some loud ticking lately and I have read about and informed from a shop to change my oil from my 0w20 spec to a 5w-40.Now my question is, will that damage or will work just fine ?

you should have this info in the back of your owners manual as well.

My year is 2019, I already know what my oil spec is. It's wv 508.00 (0w20), it does not show any other grade.
My question is, if you guys used other oil other than the one recommended ? I have a ticking sound and wherever I went with my car, even the dealer they said its nothing wrong, I visited a german shop and they suggested an engline flush and then go with a 5w40 oil grade which scared me because I know my engine oil grade is 0w20.

A lot of owners have been reporting loud ticking and some of them who have an IE tune ended up with a blown engine. Read though the thread. You might want to have your dealership check your rocker arms.

You probably have the turbocharged V6. Do not put any other oil in the engine. What's your mileage? Here is what might be happening to you: Huge engine issue with early B9 S5/RS5/SQ5 - AudiWorld Forums

I actually am not even sure this issue applies to the Q7, Q8, etc.

I do not think there are the rockers, the ticking noise is sometimes louder, sometimes is less louder. I am trying to upload a video of the sound it makes.
Also about the oil, I know what oil it needs, I just need to know if someone else tried different oil and it went away (that if the problem was with lifters or something internal).
You can hear it here that it goes away at certain rpm and when I’m selecting gear. You can see and hear throughout the video how the noise changes and sounds.

you can hear it better after I played for a bit with the acceleration and you can clearly hear it’s a bit louder now.

Here is what the description says: "After removing the valve cover, he discovers a very loose rocker, which is the source of our noise. He determines the rocker is loose because its lifter has collapsed, meaning it's not pushing up on the rocker when activated by the camshaft."
That noise is very annoying. I can relate because my dying engine does the same and I decided not to fix it but that's another story.
Don't let the stealership tell you that this is normal. That is too loud. Using the car like that may end up causing an engine failure. Have them remove the valve cover and inspect your rocker arms. That's easy to do.
