For those of you who know a lot more about Vagcom than I do: Can sport view be activated on the virtual cockpit on my 2018 Q7 Prestige? If so, How?

Only if you are under 100km on odometer. Otherwise the VC get's locked.

Looking at russian sites it should be possible to get it later also but the VC has to be replaced.
Any idea what coding to change?

The Russian site is your best resource. And yes, you would need to replace VC for a new one. Hopefully they will figure out how to overwrite EPROM on existing VC at some point.

What is Sport View ?

Sport view is one of the display options available to the virtual cockpit in the R and S car lineup. One of the things it does is combine the analog tach with a digital speedmeter thereby allowing other display option in the rest of the virtual cockpit display area.

I was hoping it could simply be activated like many other options on our cars that are built into the software but only activated at the factory for certain models.

I believe that the US version of the regular 2018 Q7 includes a digital version of a combined analog tach and digital/analog speedometer. This is part of the virtual dashboard. I know that on the right side, the speedometer shows analog dial, digital speed in the center, an analog mark where the cruise control is set, and then a digital speed for Cruise as well (plus the current speed limit with a digital sign). Once you get used to it, you have tons of info available in the Virtual dashboard.
