Quickjack for a Q7
#31
Just ordered a set of Quickjacks during Home Depot's recent sale on them. They fit my Range Rover Sport but will have to use them parallel like shown here; I'll report back on how that goes as I need to rebuild the front suspension (control arms) on the Q7 next month.

I wanted to fabricate some extensions, but not being a great (I'm trash) welder I went another direction. I have the 7000TLX
Purchased some C-Channel (C8x11.5) steel from a local supplier that offered the option of cutting it to 80" in length before bundling. You typically have to purchase the full length piece (240" or 20ft). So I ended up with 3 - 80" pieces of channel.
Then I cut a few small pieces of bar stock from my local hardware and welded them onto the bottom of it. Results in pics below. The thickness of the C-channel is enough that there is minimal upward deflection in the center of the beam (maybe 1/8-3/16"). The stock rubber blocks when stacked 2 high, is enough that there is no contact with any of the underside panels under full lift. Distance for the welded bar stock on the underside is offset a couple inches to account for the existing overhang on the quickjack being longer on 1 side. All the pressure sits on the top side of the rails and does not appear to cause additional strain or damage to the quickjack. Only downside is storing these and moving them around since the extensions are approx 76lb each side.
