Humming noise after ATF change
I cannot find anything similar through Search; therefore I created this thread.
I brought my 2017 Q7 3.0T to have a 5K OCI, transmission pan and ATF change, and also front, center, and rear differential fluid change couple weeks ago in an Indy shop. Vehicle has 68.5k miles so I thought it's about time to do it. The shop used OEM trans pan (0D5-398-009) as well as ZF Lifeguard 8 ATF.
Since I got it back I can hear a slight humming noise in the cabin while driving. The noise can be heard starting around 35-40mph and gets louder at freeway speeds. I am wondering what is it come from.
Has anyone have this past experience after fluid changes? I am suspecting it comes from the transmission. You expert advise is appreciated.
I am going to bring the vehicle back to the shop for further diagnosis this weekend.

No humming noises after changing the trans and all 3 diff fluids and it's been 16k miles since. I would agree with petery129 that it sounds like a wheel bearing is starting to go. Certainly not related to the fluid changes but an untimely coincidence.

Does anyone know if Fidelity extended warranty will cover the bearing replacement?

I've never gotten an extended warranty company to pay for bearing replacement's. You'd have to look at the fine print but usually they don't cover parts that wear out.

So I dropped off my Q7 at a local dealer today. They diagnosed and confirmed it is the wheel bearing issue (front driver side).
They also checked with Fidelity and said I am responsible for 10% plus ($100) deductible for the whole repair - I went ahead and gave them the green light.

I did ask the SA about replacing both bearings. The one that has no issues will not be covered by Fidelity and I have to pay for it. He recommends me to bring it back and file a claim again if that one starts failing.
