Hi all... Purchased my first Audi 2 days ago. I must say i dont know what took me so long. Definitely a pleasure to drive. Always drove a BMW and Mercedes before purchasing my 2019 Q7. Anyway, i was wondering if there is a ODB hack to enable DVD in motion? Had it done on my previous BMW's wondering if i can do it on the Audi too.

Any assistance anyone can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have Video In Motion enabled using OBD11 on my 2017 Q7. I never played a DVD, but it plays movies from SD card. I am not sure if it still works on 2019 models. OBD11 still shows VIM as an app.

ODB11 won't work on 2019. I don't think anyone has found a hole to explore to enable VIM on 2018+ Q7.

Is this still the case or any one figured out how to do this? I just bought a 2019 Q7 and have OBD pro but couldn't figure out how to do this yet.

In case you are still looking into a solution, OBDEleven has quietly updated their application and now it's possible to enable VIM in all vehicles WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MY2018 with the MMI software version higher than 1000. Since you have MY2019, you should be good to go.

I have a 2018 Q7 as well, still trying to figure out how to enable VIM. Could you be more specific where and what MMI version my car has? Thanks

Did anyone actually try this? Given what we know it more sounds like they meant to say MY2018+ and made a typo.

There has been some posts on other forums. Apparently it does work on 2019 and some 2018 with some specific software versions.

VIM WILL BE activated by ODBII: Q7 manufactured from 7/30/2018 to 07/08/2019
software versions
4M1035036C
4M1035036D
(and versions 036 - 044)
and all versions 4M0

ODBII WILL NOT BE able to activate VIM on software version 4M1035036 (with letters А and B)..These software versions were installed on models manufactured from 05/29/2017 to 07/30/2018

It seems I am SOL when it comes to VIM as my build was 3/18 - but will try it anyway just to test this info
