DIY Oil Change 2020+ Q7 (Anyone done it?)
Has anyone attempted to do a DIY oil change on a Q8 or 2020+ Q7? I found a video online of an S4 (apparently has the same motor) oil change, but has a different air filter/bracing setup. I am not sure how to access the oil filter under the air filter assembly/brace without breaking something. I was hoping someone might have a video or a picture guide of that step. On a related note, has anyone taken advantage of the FCPEuro used oil returns? Any watchouts/concerns? I'd assume I could just order their S4 oil change kit since they don't have newer kits listed (assuming the filters are the same). Thanks!
Here is a link to the S4 oil change I was referencing.

Bumping this thread as my 2020 V6 3.0T Q7 is asking for an oil change (turbo engine not SC.)
30k service done at 24k miles as part of Certified dealership sale in February.
It's now December and I'm at 30k miles, so 10 months and 6k miles of spirited driving since last change-- does that sound reasonable? I recall my A3 1.8T back in 2001 drank oil...
If DIY is easy... (?) ...what are we using as preference in this engine? It's cold season here for the next 4 months if that makes a difference... thanks!

I did mine at 2k just out of habit for break in. It’s ridiculous how much of a pain they make it, but not hard. Just annoying. You remove the intake and a cross member to get to the filter. Underneath it’s just 20 of those torx screws, so I used a dremel and engineered a little “door” into the underbody shield so now that part will be a lot easier.

this video won't do it for you ????
I normally use a oil sucker and suck the oil from the dip stick hole, don't bother draining it , I get about 7 quarts out of the 7.2.

I have 3 oil changes under my belt using an extractor exclusively. Loosen the front air intake hose clamp, then remove the oil fill hose from the drivers side valve cover by turning it counter clockwise about half a turn. Then pull up on the entire air filter/heat shield assembly and either flip it over and place on the passenger fender or just move it to the side. There is a wire harness attached to the heat shield on the passenger side with some metal clips. I relocated the harness after the first change to make the process easier.

To the OP, the FCP used oil return works without a hitch. Until very recently, if you paid for the original purchase with PayPal, PayPal would even cover the return shipping cost but that program has ended for good, I believe. Good luck.
