correct, and they usually rent the cab from someone and make little. Like the Dominos delivery guy who makes $3 / hr and relies on tip or the waitress. When i get furniture delivered, I tip them well too. Same for hair cut people. they make close to min wage and also rely on tips. Its hard to know whos making what but you get a sense over time...

My recommendation for "car wash + tip" is ... wait for it ... "touchless tipping".
This just sounds so weird!

I don't get my cars washed at the dealer so no tip for them. However, I usually (discretely) tip my service advisor.. Been doing this for years..

I would never let the dealership wash my cars.

I do however give my service advisor and head tech Christmas presents which generally are from the Johnnie Walker line.

Santa Monica Audi used to offer as a perq unlimited free car washes, but when the drought hit SoCal, they stopped the perq.
We go to local car wash and I usually tip $5.

We use Costco's drive through car-wash in Dana Point CA... the car-wash is very high quality and very fast... only $8.00, and no tipping. After driving out, I typically park and wipe off the water spots.

Costco has a car wash? That's something I never saw at any Costco's.

Wait! What??!! Costco offers car-wash? In the northeast, the most I have seen at Costco is the gas station & tire stores.

I send my Audi service advisor a $50 restaurant card for Christmas each year.
