I'll likely change the oil this weekend, as I'll be just over 5k since the last change when I get home.

In other maintenance thoughts. New 295/40/21 Conti DWS06's were put on yesterday morning. New pads/rotors/sensors were ordered this morning. Have a complete driveline (front/rear diff and t-case) and brake fluid flush quoted from a reputable shop in Buffalo. Will likely schedule that today as well.

Looking into tunes. Jackal is showing some promise, and is the value leader at this point because they include a transmission tune in one price AND you can flash from home. Tuner claims he can help with oil consumption with his tune. Not sure I really believe that, but I've been logging, so it should be pretty apparent if it works. S/C clutch needs to be addressed. Might see if keeping it locked all the time with a tune just makes those symptoms go away, might make them worse in a hurry. Not sure. PCV has no symptoms other than oil burn. So, I'm somewhat in a "ain't broke don't touch it" kind of mindset there. Same with the engine mounts that are still stock, no real symptoms in terms of driveability or performance, so I'm gonna leave those be as well. I can hear a "flappy" sound under decel when near a concrete wall. Guessing that's the downpipes flex sections that are likely failing. Again, aside from a little weird noise, I'm not getting symptoms, so I'm not gonna mess with it.

Reminds me of my kid who gives a less than half hearted "sorry" just to check the box. Just like I tell him- words are worthless without the supporting actions.

Your son is fortunate to have guidance by a wise parent to support learning the difference between right and wrong

FWIW for my supercharged C6 3.0T, I went with JHM ECU and TCU Stage 2 using flash-at-home along with a complete belts idlers tensioners service while installing their 179mm crank pulley. I am about to install their front mount intercooler to help bring the IAT’s back down as the increased heat can shorten the life of the stock cats. Also looking at downpipes which locate the cats further downstream from the engine. A few times per year they have a site wide 15% off sale which is helpful.

Do you have a link to the down pipes you are thinking about?

I have not looked for Q7 Exhaust options so you may want to shop around. JHM is always working on new products so you could check with them as well.

you've been on here for a few months bashing the brand, telling people these cars are junk, promoting your youtube channel where you're doing the same, etc. now you come back for more after taking a beating and trying to throw some humor around and have to explain yourself when others don't get said humor. sorry, not sorry.

I had my pistons and rings replace at around 33k miles back in 2022 due to excessive oil consumption. My Q7 just turned 63k miles (so 30k since the repair) and is now using about half a quart per 5k miles which means it's better off after 30k miles with the new pistons and rings compared to the factory pistons and rings that were toast at 33k. I have been using Liqui Moly religiously since the rebuild, not sure if that helped or helps any.

Kelisko is the Energizer Bunny of brand hater as he takes a beating and all his accounts keep on hating. Careful or he will release yet another junk yard dog shill account like G-Can onto the AW forums 😂

At one point Kelisko was typing so fast he forgot to log out and log back in again with the right sequence of account responses and gave himself up 🤣

The one question I have asked Kelisko a few times is what actually happened to cause his CREC engine failure? Kelisko refuses to answer this one simple question and refuses to post pictures or make a video of his engine damage. I wonder why? Come on now Kelisko… be honest… did you accidentally blow up your CREC while making your YouTube channel repair videos? Maybe FODded a cylinder or two and destroyed the engine upon startup? Something strange happened and this is a root cause of Kelisko hating the brand he used to fanboy love so much!
