I had to dump my custom S6 at 15k miles due to all the turbos blowing, and that fact that I had EPL tune on it. I could not even take it to the dealer for Audi care for fear of TD1. I would enjoy more power with our 2018 Q7 Prestige, but am not willing to mess with TD1 and warranty. Especially in that we just had the 12k service done, and the toe and camber were so off during the alignment confirming all the other feathering issues. No telling what else will pop up.

I wish Audi were more like BMW - my new X5 is tuned and the dealers not only sell the upgrades, but don't care as long as its done professionally.

I got the 91 tune Friday night. Butt dyno says it is much faster... but no 1/4 mile until the spring. The car gets up to 100+ on the highway in a hurry. From a stop it is not much different, I believe the power is really showing later in the rev range from stock. I got the sale price that is 10% off running through new years. I would say it changed the car, but stage 1 on my 2.0t B8.5 convertible was more drastic, most likely because it added similar gains with 1000lbs less curb weight in a sportier chassis...

I ran a very new 2019 Q7 3.0T a few months back at NED and these were my two best time slips. Car was completely stock... hope to beat these significantly in the spring...

I agree. Had a surprise supercharger clutch replaced(There is a TSB on that!), and than i had a CEL, and they replaced it again. So too much headache, reminder that things can go wrong anytime. Luckily it was not tuned, the meager 10% discount prevented me(was thinking the -30% 3.0 sale would come again).

Now i cooled off. Have the 120k warranty also, do no need to risk that. But honestly,IMHO this platform never feels underpowered, not even when fully loaded, and with skibox.
cheers,
Bob

Mine gets tuned next week by my old friend I went to high school with in the 90’s, and is the APR tech. 25k deep with mileage and I don’t drive pedal to the metal. Mainly want the tune, just like I’ve tuned all my rigs before, for better acceleration going up hills and excessive curvy roads.
I’ve also experienced better fuel mileage when tuned properly, this is mainly the info I’d like to hear. But then again we all smash AUDIs so fuel economy is subjective in a fun way

Wow, those are excellent times for a 2.5ton vehicle.

Can't wait to see what you can do in the spring!
