Android Auto
Hi everyone.
I'm new to this forum so firstly to introduce myself. I've just acquired a 2016 Q7 S Line having had loads of VW's and a few Audis previously. I love the car but this problem is driving me nuts. My smartphone (S22 Ultra) connects via BT so spotify and telephony are fine but I can't seem to get Android Auto working. I'm plugging into the right USB and the phone charges and I get the message on the phone about sharing data but it doesn't start up AA at all? I also haven't got the "Audi Smartphone Interface" on the MMI menu (Just "Audi Connect"). I've tried different leads, different phones, I've reset the AA app, put the MMI back to factory settings.....all to no avail. Is it possible that my car isn't compatible (I was led to believe that all Mk2 Q7s from 2016 had AA as standard?
I really want to use Google maps on the car screen so I'm really keen to get this working so any help would be gratefully received.
Many thanks.
Simon

According to this thread, the early MKII's didn't have it. You may be able to enable it with MIB, but do your own research.

I've found Android Auto to be very finicky with the cables that work for it, and even when you have one that seems to be working well, it just stops. It's not isolated to Audi's, my wifes' Palaside has the same issue. The only thing that's worked for us is AAWireless, once it's setup it seems to run flawlessly. It might be worth trying and if it doesn't work, you can return it.
