21 or 22 inch wheels??? Help!!! HELP !!
Collecting my new Q7 in a couple week. Comes with stock 19s. It’s a 2.0tfsi non air suspension.
Will be upgrading my wheels pretty much immediately.
Down to 3 choices:
AG M590 21x10.5 et30, 295/40/21
SQ7 22” reps 22x9.5 et30, 285/35/22
Vorsteiner VFF107 22x9 et28, 285/35/22
have looked at lots of photos online with the SQ7 reps and VFF107 in 22” setups. My main concern is the ride quality with 35 series tyres. It’s supposed to be a SUV so my main priority is ride comfort.
Can anyone who has gone through 21” and 22”
setups WITHOUT air suspension comment on any different in ride quality and compliance? This car will be my wife’s daily driver as a soccer mom and chauffeur to 3 kids.
Thanks!!!

Don't do it. 22 inch is lot heaver than 19 inch. With that engine, it's gonna struggle with acceleration, not to mention a lot worse comfort. The biggest to upgrade to is 20 inch with 285/45/20 tyres, both your back and your wallet will thank you for this.

Go with a 275/45/20 over a 285 section width. Many more choices and your wallet will thank you.

i was comparing to 255/55r19 stock size. But yeah I think 275/40/22 might be a good choice.
oh how I wish the cost of a set of premium 22” wheels and tyres would get me a 3.0T engine lol. Here in Singapore the 2.0tfsi is stickered at USD$215,000. The 3.0 would be $255,000 thank you very much.
in any case this car will be driven 99% of the time by my wife sending and fetching kids in city traffic.
