2017 Prestige. Code for radiator fan door
My car was overheated. Head gasket has been swapped.
But there's a code that appears after driving 60 miles. It's for the radiator fan's flappers. It seems like this door or sensor for it is acting up.
Car runs fine for weeks now despite this intermittent code. I would clear it and it pops again.
Any idea ?

You’re talking about the grill shutter? Had that happen to me. The dealership had to replace the motor and recode it. Issue is if it stays open, car will run too cold. If it stays closed, car will run too hot.

please see this thread and post. I have helped walk numerous owners through this repair and most dealers have fully covered it under the cars E1E FEW (federal emissions warranty) good for 8yrs and 80k miles. if not the fix is about $1200. it could be more if you have driver assist features that require recalibration after the front bumper is reinstalled (at the dealer).

Unfortunately mine has 115K.
Anything DIY that my mechanic friend could do?

only the motor. I would also try and see if you can get an ECU software update from your dealer to the latest revision. it helps with this issue long term and also might help your supercharger clutch engagement and something else. either way one hour of labor at the dealer after your mechanic replaces the shutter motor would be worth it...
