Default Xennon Headlight out - 2008 S-line

Hi everyone,

Long time since my last post. My wife told me she has a headlight out and I told her to take it to the dealer. It is still under warranty and I am assuming they will fix it.

Question, I am not familiar with xennon headlights burning out. My 750Li has never blown. Are these actual bulb replacements when they go? It is big $$ if it is not covered? Can I do it myself next time?

Thanks in advance,
Joe

I believe lights are only covered for 1 year. Either way the xenon bulbs are 100 to 200 or more. You can buy bulbs online and do it yourself.

It ended up being the right DRL. My wife was telling me she had a headlight out. $5 bucks and a quick replacement!

Yeah, Xenon bulbs will cost you ~200 to get replaced. The warranty is only 1 year. I was quite pissed when Audi did not cover mine at 35K miles 2 months after I purchased the CPO. On the other hand, my 2001 A4 still have original bulbs with 130K miles. The S4 needed one at 85K.

Does it state this in the warranty booklet? It seems there are several items which may, or may not be covered for longer than 12M/12K, but it is random as far as the dealer covering it. The way I read the warranty it should be bumper to bumper for 4yr/50k other than tires, brake pads, wiper blades and fluids. For example, mine is having a roof leak repaired. They have replaced the headliner twice in the process. The car is a 2007 with 28K on the clock. If the headliner is classified as "interior trim" why would it be covered?
