It sure didn't work. I need a new Control unit. My dealer says 700.00 plus tax. Any idea where to get one cheaper, and does the very last letter or the part number matter? The part number i have is 4L0 919 609 K and I found a part on ebay 4L0 919 609 J

Here is a picture of the part number. My part is exactly the same but has a (K) at the end, not a (H) like the one in the picture. Is there a difference, and will this one work?

I can't get there with the part # you provided but GenuineAudiparts.com has it listed for $561.60 for the 07-09 models if you wade through their catalog.
Here's the link, not sure if its going to work.

Sticky drinks do not do well. I suggest your wife drink water in the Q7 instead(not that I have been able to get my wife to do this either ) We have had one similar episode, but the coffee missed the MMI and went into the passenger footwell...
I never drink anything in my S2000.

I've banned all drinks but water in the Q now. (and now I have a get-out-of-jail-free card next time I screw-up.)

Thanks for the pics. Looks like an EZ replacement, cost seems ***-tronomical.... Almost everyone has a beverage of some sort in their vehicle these days. Pretty much seems like an incredible not thought out design (at least for the American market).

If I were you, i take out the board with the spilled liquid and rinse it in warm water and let it dry, also clean all the contacts.
I dropped a camera in a pool once, it didn't work for a whole year and suddenly it works again.
You have to throughly dry the wet components, in your case, the sugar or the sticky stuff is interfering with the contacts.
Good luck.
