UK: Audi Q7 3L diesel 2010 Hatch Tailgate Problem
Hi All
Any advice will be very gratefully received please…
Tailgate shows as open on dash graphic even when closed.
with engine running the tailgate opens using the release button on drivers door or the release button on the tailgate below the number plate. Also closes using the tailgate close button and does pull in the extra inch or two. But does not open or close with the key fob.
With the engine off nothing works. The tailgate will release with the tailgate button under the number plate but does not raise to the open position.
I’ve already swapped out the paddle sensor switch and the strike plate mechanism with ones from a similar Q7 being dismantled and hoping the guys word was good saying his tailgate was working fine before dismantling.
Open to any ideas thanks 🙏🏻

Scan the car fully with a VAGCOM type scan tool, otherwise you can't read the internal trouble codes stored by this car.
The dash warning light is your clue the sensor itself is likely the problem, although some faults will remain active until you manually clear the fault code using a VAGCOM scan tool, etc. At the very least, the diagnostic scan tool will reveal any number of internal fault codes you didn't know your car has, etc. Choose a VAGCOM wisely, as most can read codes but not all can actually help you to resolve issues and maintain this car.
