Default Transmission shifting

My Q7 shifts like a standard transmission almost. you can feel each shift as the cpu kills the engine - shifts - as it goes through the gears. You can really feel it when it cold. do all Q7's do this?? whe you hear it going down the street sounds like a standard transmission. This all makes me nerious with the electronics. I assume there are Solenoids in there doing the shifting. just wondering how long these will last before I start having problems. Is there any information on the transmissions in the Q7 some place?? Just feels like they won't last long i city driving. as teh car gets warmer you don't notice it as much. Can a VAG tool help the shift feel?? I have the 3.6 FSI with 42K on teh car right now. Just gathering information because my Q7 is now off of warranty.

Ours is not like this at all. Very smooth. Once in a while there will be a rough shift, but not commonly.

This is the way with mine, too.

Ours was having problems and they replaced a valve body in the transmission; now it's having the issues again so it's going back. Not hopeful that I won't be replacing a transmission before 85k.

It just makes me nuts because I had an old 1963 Ranult Dauphine with a push button automactic that ****fs the same way the Q7 does. seems to work alright but the thing sounds like a standard shifting , then it smooths out a little bit as it gets warmer. I'm just a afrad the electronic crap is going to go with whatever does the shifting. I'm just crossing my fingers..

Have you tried to replace the transmission oil? I replaced mine one month ago, at 100000km, just in case, and noticed better performance in the shifting. If the solenoids get stuck due to dirty oil, they might be slower to shift the gears. Just a thought.
