Default Tire pressure sensors

Hello all, just wondering if anyone has used aftermarket tire pressure sensors in an 09 Q7? If so what brand is recommended and can they be programmed without visiting the stealership?

I bought a second set of summer wheels I need to get sensors for....

My tire shop replaces them. Pretty sure they don't use Audi OE.
The MMI has a reset feature for when you change tires or fill them with air.

Hey, my tire sensors weren't working, or didn't seem to be. Then I bought new tires from Sam's Club, which does offer tire pressure sensor kits/service kits, surprisingly. I forgot to ask when had mounted, but did remember to ask during first rotation. The tech told me didn't have the kit in stock (I was passing through the region, so I stopped to get tires serviced free), but imagine my surprise when after getting that rotate/balance done, my pressure sensor warning lit up in dash pod just a few days later as the weather was turning cold/hot/cold. Scared the heck out of me at first, as it had never gone off prior. I'm guessing they made sure all the batteries were good on the stems and possibly recoded them to the car, so it would recognize them. Anyways, Sam's Club is a good resource if you a member, or would like to be. Costco also has excellent tire service shop on site for members, and fills tires with nitrogen too.

I thought the Q7 used the wheel speed sensor to monitor rotational speeds rather than direct tire pressure?

The 2012's and up do, older ones have sensors in the wheels still.

Thanks for the update all; my situational reference was in regard to my '10 TDI getting tires/tire service at Sam's Club and inquiring of them on the availability of the service kit for TPMS. I didn't know it had changed over to speed sensor monitoring with 2012 models either, and we have a '15 model too, so kudos to all inquiring minds out there who contributed...good tech info.

FWIW 2011s used the rotation sensors to monitor for a low tire also. We had one.

Can confirm, our 11 uses wheel speed sensors for pressure. I'm not a big fan of this compared to actual PSI sensors because ours would slowly 4 tires pretty equally over time and not trigger the alert even though pressure fell well below spec. It's good for a leak in one tire, but for natural pressure loss over time you need to be doing regular pressure checks IME or you could get under inflated on all 4 over time.

Opps, thought it was 2012 the switched.
When it got really cold a few weeks ago I checked my 2014 and all the tires were ~10 psi low. I get why they switched as having 5 sensors with batteries is less reliable over time, but with the sensors in each wheel you can get real number, not calculated values.
