Throttle response to sharp
Hi all,
I think that my Q7 Throttle doesn't have the middle spot and only does too little power with very slow acceleration or then put too much power and it pulls too much.
I was hopping that someone would be able to say what could be the reason for this and if there could be some underlying issues that I could check for?
Thank you for looking into the thread.

Might want to lead off with details on your car's engine, year, mileage, etc., yeah?
On the TDI engines, and especially those with 'dieselgate' software installed on them, it's not uncommon to have a very poor,
laggy' throttle response experience, especially when taking off from a standstill, etc. There is an easy process to recalibrate the electronic throttle sensor (yes, it's a fly-by-wire throttle; not mechanically connected to anything but a sensor), and also reset the 'learning' memory of the transmission, and this simple reset can have a huge impact on how it feels/responds to to throttle input. Another option is to select the Sport mode on transmission, which will bypass most of the 'dieselgate' programming and give you a lot less hesitation, but you want to begin with the throttle sensor calibration; it's simple, it's free, and you don't need a scan tool, although you'll need a VAGCOM scan tool eventually to own this car long-term.
If it is a TDI, you may also want to consider a fuel supplement to boost the Cetane value of the fuel; this makes a great deal of difference in the North America market, where the diesel fuel quality (the additives package, that is) is not on par with Euro-fuel standards, etc. Tuning is also a fan-favorite option, but that will cost some $$$ for a good tune.
