- Audi Q5 How to Replace Battery<br>Step by step instructions for do-it-yourself repairs.
Is there a write-up anywhere on how to change the Q7 battery please?

yea when the BMW guy showed up he jumped us using the jump points under the hood i think they were....he only showed me where the battery was because i simply had to know where it was

so it sounds like you can still get a jump from under the hood. i was about to say......

so it sounds like if you are ever stranded somewhere due to battery outage, you better know how to remove the seat if you call a friend for a jump. otherwise, your best bet is to just call AAA or audi roadside. i know i'll be studying/reading those PDF guides below now!

Battery is under the seat, in cargo area, etc... to help weight distribution and keep the battery away from the elements.
Contact terminals are always available under the hood. And properly labeled.
I see it more in the Germans (maybe it's the engineering thinking). Seems like a good reason enough for me. Except for the pain in the butt when it comes to replacing it. They should/can always made it more accessible and easier to swap out. And with the electronics, you'll have to reset a lot of alerts with a VAGCOM or at the dealer.

Of the 4 Audis I currently own only one, the 08 A4, has the battery in the engine compartment and ironically its more of a PITA to access than any of the others except the Q7 which takes the prize in that category. In the S6 it is under the passenger rear seat and in the V8 it is under the driver side rear seat.

Jusforfun,
Thanks for the Important info. I like K2Audi took the seat off the cage before discovering the bolts at the front holding the cage down.
I don't suppose you have the torque settings for the seat bolts do you?

i went to the auto electrician to ask about the Q7 battery.
and spec is type 019
and he said there is no need to code the battery to the car!
he said its just the dealer saying it so you take it to an approved audi garage to rip you off.
i cant see the battery level mangement in the MMI anyway so whats the point of coding it to the car?
