Default Drive both... but a big pro for the Q7 is not having the star on the hood

The Q7's biggest selling advantage is how it drives... have you had a chance to test drive one?

Unless one needs a hearse, I don't understand the interest in the R. Can you clarify?

The R class drives like a sedan too. I wouldn't knock it

Default I love AUDI but...

the mercedes is more advanced design and sits on the road better than the Q7. I also had bad bad experience with both my 1.8T and my A8.

Right now, I'd get the R320 because of the CDI engine. Do you care about going offroad? And.. have you checked both for 3rd row comfort?

If the 3rd row is not a priority, you may want to consider an ML320 CDI.

The R class would seem to represent an upscale Chrysler Pacifica or Ford Freestyle. Basically a more stylish minivan. We took a breif look at the MB M and GL classes before we got the Q7. The Q offers much of what the GL offers at a price comparable to the M. Tow rating was important, so the R wasn't an option. Naturally I'm bias, but I think the Q offers the best value. And Mercedes has a very poor quality rating. I think only Land Rover is worse.

Default Guess it's a matter of perception, but I don't think the R is more advanced

it does look like a Pacifica and a Hearse - and they've been around awhile - JMO. My brother left MB after driving them for 25 years for an A8L - said he he won't go back to MB - just another view -
