Default Q7: new tire brand choice?

Hi,

I have to replace new tire for my Q7. I can get Michelin from Costco or Pirelli tire. Any recommendation between these two brand.

Costco: Michelin - Premier LTX 275/45R20XL 110 V
Pirelli: 275/45R20 110H

Thanks

I have that same Michelin LTX on my 2013 TDI and they have been awesome. Currently at 37k miles with plenty of life left. I replaced a set of Pirelli Scorpions due to noise, not tread wear.

I have the Pirelli Scorpion Verde Plus and have been very happy with them after 20k. The Pirelli Scorpion Asymetrico that came OEM on many Q7s from the factory aren't the same tire, and they wear much quicker and are noisier.

Like I mentioned in other thread... Got the Goodyear eagle sport AS 265/50r18 off tire rack for $125 each and got a $60 rebate which offset the install cost. So about $500 out the door. They have been excellent so far. I searched all over for the best deal and the cheapest I could find for mine at Costco or chain tire shops was close to $1k out the door.

Btw we have Verde on another car. Good tire, decent wear but not the greatest. Have you priced Tire Rack. They have Cooper's for $150 and Goodyear Eagle GT II for $180. I had Cooper's on a truck that were solid. Our Eagle Sport on our Q7 have been great. Not sure the difference between those and the GT 2. If you want Verdes they have them for $220. Install for a tire you buy online for a 20 inch rim will probably run $25 a tire so take that into consideration.

I didn't price Costco but I'd be surprised if they have anything under $300 a tire in that size. In my size I couldn't find anything from them under $275 IIRC.

295? I didn't know you can run 295/45/20. I just got Continentals 285/45/20 for my TDI. Pretty happy.
