Default Q7 Dead

This morning wife went to depart in 2008 Q7 4.2 S and car was dead. Called AAA and still couldn't get it started. Had to tow to dealer. Of course with battery being under drivers seat must have dealer replace sine i don't want to have coronary. Hopefully just the battery for $500. Just had major service recent but battery is still original.

$500 is too much. I had mine done at the dealer for $363.85 a couple of years ago.

Used to be $7 fee in CA if you do not return your old battery many years ago when I used to live in SD. Maybe time to look for a new dealer.

If you are a semi-proficient DIY mechanic, then you can get a new Interstate H7 battery for ~$200 and install it yourself. The battery is located under the driver's seat. You will need to buy a 10mm 12 point socket to remove the bolts that hold down the railings of the front seat. To be more comfortable with the process, go to youtube and search for "v8 touareg battery replacement". There are 2 different Touareg videos that will step you through the process- in addition to the 2 PDF files that you can search for online which give the specific instructions on how to do the battery change for your Q7. Hope this helps.
