Default Q7 Caliper Covers

My 2013 Q7 S-Line Prestige gives off a lot of break dust. Does anyone have any recommendations for caliper covers?

I don't know about caliper covers, but you could change out your pads to something that doesn't produce as much dust (i.e., Hawk ceramics).

Won't ceramic pads eat through the rotors faster?

Any feedback on the Hawk HPS pads on the Q7?

I'd say the best option is to paint your wheels a darker titanium color so it masks the brake dust.

I can attest to the Hawk Premium Ceramics producing over 95% less dust. I just put them on my 2013 Prestiege S-line even though it only had less than 1000 miles. Now, instead of having to clean my 20" silver painted wheels every time I went down the block to the grocery store, I have about 200 miles on the Hawks & if I look real close ( I'm kind of a fanatic since my hobby used to be car shows with my Corvettes), I can see that there's a light dusting there but it wipes right off.
Don' t know about going thru rotors - at this point that's immaterial
If by "caliper covers" you mean those big shields that mount behind the wheel, I'd stay away. They don't work that well and they can cause brake overheating problems.

I've ran Hawk HPS pads on a number of vehicles and they have drastically helped with stopping power. As for brake dust, it is less then OEM, but not by much. You may not see much dust initially, but your wheels will get caked over time.

Unfortunately there is not a whole lot you can do here without compromising stopping power.

Also, caliper covers wont do anything for brake dust. You can run a brake dust shield like such https://www.kleenwheels.com/ but boy do they look awful!!!

OK, thanks. I saw the caliper covers and they said they reduce the break dust, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks again for the responses.

Tiggaman, So the Hawk pads stop better then the OEM pads?

My Q7 is new and has < 1000 miles so I haven't had the need to replace the pads. Unfortunately, I don't have personal experience with Hawk pads on the Q7, yet...

However, I have ran HPS pads on a number of my previous vehicles (M37, 328 and Acura TL) and I can assure you they are far better then the OEM setup when it comes to bite and sheer stopping power.

When my Q7 is in need of brake service, this will be the first thing i change.

On my 2012 Q7 just replaced the pads with Pagid in the fronts & Hawks in the back, and for put Zimmerman rotors on all 4.... don't get rotors from stoptech, they are inferior products from China, I don't understand why people would buy a German vehicle and later on replace parts "made in China"
