each seat has a tether point underneath it for the top strap. so there are three places to lock it in, left right and center.
i didnt know the center had one until 2putt pointed it out to me...

Agree with '2ndthought'. We have a Peg Perego car seat for our 6 week old, placed behind the drivers seat. There is no LATCH access in the middle seat, so you will have to 'borrow' the LATCHes closer to the center on either side (which will then prevent you from having any other car seats in the 2nd row). Our 5 and 8 year old have a car seat and booster, respectively, that can fit in both the 2nd and 3rd rows. With the 40/20/40 split 2nd row, it makes it convenient for the kids to acesss row 3 with the middle seat down without having to slide the 2nd row seats forward. If you have cardamom beige interior like us, Lionheart makes a seat saver that matches impeccably well (our friends think it came with the vehicle).

Slightly off topic, but definitely related to car seats..

As iconoclast points out, there is a LATCH anchor point for the middle of the 2nd row seat. You do/should not use one of the 3rd row anchors for the middle of the 2nd row! Anchor point for middle second row seating position is directly behind the middle seating position, attached to the 2nd row seats, not on the floor in the storage area as are the 3rd row LATCH anchor points!
