NON-TDI Owners: What's Ur Real World Gas Mileage
just bought a CPO'ed 2008 Q7 3.6 Premium. my first audi, coming from a lexus RX 350. would like a quick survey from you experts.....
so far, LOVE the looks of the car. however, i am a bit shocked at how low the MPG mileage is on this car. i'm currently getting about 15-16 MPG on the 3.6 engine, with 91 octane gas and driving 50/50 highway/city.
does this sound about right for all you non-TDI owners? i'm measuring it based on true miles driven divided by actual gallons pumped into the tank (vs. reading the computer calculated reading on the dash).
for you 3.6 and 4.2 engine owners, can you share your real world driving MPG? i just want an idea of what others are getting.
thanks!

15-16mpg in real life is about right. I think the car only gets 13mpg in the city driving and 19mpg on freeway. I got used to it by now. I used to check every time I fill her up, but not any more- 300-350 miles for 20-21 gallons like clock work.
BTW, never trust the computer average mpg, it's wrong. Mine has always been 18-19mpg on the display.
Hope you don't feel cheated...
Cheers,
Louis
