New To Audi. Looking To Buy Q7 Please Help
I am new to this forum and luxury cars period. I am seriously considering buying an Audi Q7. I have always dreamed of owning an Audi and I want an SUV since I'm 6'3 240 pounds and I'm tired of feeling tight in the driver seat. I have no knowledge of Audi as far as reliability all I hear is the repairs are expensive. I'm looking at some 2015 models maybe 2014 but I'm seeing a lot of 2014 with over 50,000 miles and that scares me. I'm not sure how much i truly should be paying for it. Does Audi have extended warranties and if they do are they worth it? I'm coming for a 2013 Honda Accord V6 so please bear with me, this is a whole new monster and I just need some help to see if going German (Benz, BMW, Audi) is a smart move. What should I be looking for when purchasing this car? Are there any know repairs these car are notorious for? I plan on owning this car a long time and I don't have a problem spending $$$ on occasional repairs but $3000 here then $3500 and another $5000 is not good. I appreciate any feedback and hopefully I will be apart of the Audi family soon talking with you guys all the time.
Thanks
Thanks

My story, back in 2013, I purchased a used 2011 Q5 with 35k miles. It was in near perfect condition as a certified Audi from a dealer. I also purchased the extra warranty to take it to 100k miles. We had VERY few problems with the Q5. Normal Brake job (which I did myself for the cost of parts), and then an oil leak/water pump that went out which cost over $1k to fix... but in general, it was maintenance/trouble free. I loved that car. I am 6'2, and 206 pounds... but NEVER felt crampled in the Q5.
But, we decided to upgrade to a new Q7... not because the Q5 was small, but because we wanted better/built-in towing ability in a nice vehicle. The Q7 has even more room, and the ride is amazing. Most cars, I need to put the seat ALL the way back... if I did that in the Q7, i would not reach the peddles. AND people can sit behind me in the second row.
One thing to note as you look... As of 2007, they completely redesigned the Q7. There is a second forum that is just for people with the new version. This new mkii version is lighter weight, has better gas mileage, better power, and has great ratings. https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-...iscussion-211/
Because of everything I read, I decided that the Q7 I would get should be 2017 or newer... after price shopping, I decided that since I tend to keep cars longer, I would bite the bullet and get a new one. We are so happy with the car... only had it just over a month, but it is simply amazing.
